WHAT TO EXPECT

DRESS: Please come as you are!

Most of the people in our service are dressed casually. Check out the photos on this website or our social media to get a feel for it, if that is helpful for you!

WORSHIP: In line with our vision to be a cross cultural ministry, we seek to worship with music from across centuries and ethnicities. You can expect to sing an ancient hymn, a Black gospel song, as well as contemporary songs each week, all in our own style of soulful, acoustic-driven worship music.

We worship God by hearing the Bible read and preached, praying and singing with the words and attitudes of the Bible, and regularly practicing the things the Bible teaches us to do together. So, we begin every service with a portion of God’s Word which calls us to worship him. During the service, we respond to his glory with a moment of confession and prayer. And we often utilize a portion of the historic creeds and confessions of the church to declare the truth in his Word.

Each week we observe the Lord’s Supper, together, declaring the beautiful reality of union with Jesus in his body to our own hearts and to one another, being strengthened by the Spirit to live by faith day to day.

CHILDREN: For those who are able, we highly value engaging our children in the worship service, believing that children best learn to follow Jesus alongside of their parents in the community of God’s people.

After singing together, our children move to the back of the room with our Kids Ministry, where they can ask questions about the teaching, draw and write about what they’re hearing, and really learn how to participate in the full worship service. Our Kids Ministry Coordinators seek to build real relationships with the children of the church on more than just Sunday afternoons, as well, to know how to come alongside and communicate with them in helpful and meaningful ways.

We also have childcare and a room for play for the little ones, or those those who may not be able to sit through the full service. However, please know that we believe the presence of children (including all the usual noises and needs that come along with them) is a blessing and benefit to the adults in the worship service, as well!
